Can I install my Krystal Klear Water system?
Yes, if you’ve got some basic plumbing skills you can easily do it following our instructions. Undersink systems generally take less than an hour, while our whole house systems can take a few hours.
Alternatively, a local plumber or handyman can do it as well.
What if I have Well Water?
We can definitely help you. Call our office at 888-408-1808 and we will custom design a system that solves any particular well water problems you might have – whether it be an odor problem, a staining problem or a taste issue.
Well water is completely different than city (municipal) water. Beware any company that tries to sell you the same system as they would for someone who’s on city water. It’s simply not true.

My water tastes and smells fine, isn’t that all I need to know?
You have to be very careful with that kind of assumption. A test of tap water of more than 28 million people from 19 U.S. water utilities found pharmaceutical drugs, endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs), and unregulated organic contaminants. Of the 51 compounds the study looked for, the 11 most often found compounds were: atenolol, atrazine, carbamazepine, estrone, gemfibrozil, meprobamate, naproxen, phenytoin, sulfamethoxazole, TCEP, and trimethoprim.

Good question, and one we get all the time.

What Are The Main Pollutants Found In Water?
Water pollutants come in several specific and defined classes. The first are disease-causing agents. These are the bacteria, viruses, protozoa and parasitic worms that enter sewage systems and untreated waste water.
A second category of water pollutants is oxygen-demanding wastes; wastes that are broken down at the molecular level by oxygen-requiring or aerobic bacteria. When large populations of decomposing bacteria are converting these waste and by products, it can deplete oxygen levels in the water source. This often causes other organisms which depend on oxygen in the water, such as fish, to die.
A third class of water pollutants is water-soluble inorganic pollutants, such as acids, salts and toxic metals. Large quantities of these compounds will make water unfit to drink, as well as cause the death of aquatic life. (See the recent Flint, Michigan scandal on the threat of lead in their water supply).
Another class of water pollutants are nutrients; they are water-soluble nitrates and phosphates that cause excessive growth of algae and other water plants, which deplete the water’s oxygen supply. This kills fish and, when found in drinking water, can even kill young children.
Water can also be polluted by a number of organic compounds such as oil, plastics and pesticides which are harmful to humans and all plants and animals in the water.
A very dangerous category is suspended sediment, because it causes depletion in the water’s light absorption and the particles spread dangerous compounds such as pesticides through the water.
Finally, water-soluble radioactive compounds can cause cancer, birth defects and genetic damage and are thus very dangerous water pollutants.
What is the difference between the Tri-Klear Whole House System and The “Total Solution” System?

How do I detect water pollution in my home’s tap water?
Water pollution used to be only detected in laboratories where small samples of water were analysed for different contaminants. Technology has improved such that convenient testing tools can be brought to locations where water pollution is suspected.
Living organism testing, on fish for example, can also be used for the detection of water pollution. Changes in organism behavior or growth can illustrate to water testing professionals if the water they live in is polluted. Specific ailments and biological markers in these organisms can give insight and actionable data on the extent of pollution in their environment.
Laboratories can also feed water testing data to computer models to determine if and what dangers are in the tested water. Such testing is the most thorough and data driven way to get precise information about a water supply’s impurities and contaminants.

What is acid rain and how does it develop?
Typical rainwater has a pH of between 5 and 6. That is the naturally neutral, slightly acidic state of this important liquid to our lives. During precipitation rainwater dissolves gasses such as carbon dioxide and oxygen. Industries world wide now emit tremendous amounts of acidifying gasses, such as sulfuric oxides and carbon monoxide that also dissolve in the rainwater that eventually supplies our drinking water.
The resulting changes in pH of the rainwater can cause the pH to dip below 4. Alarmingly, when a substance has a pH of below 6.5, it is commonly classified as an acid. Thus, when this phenomena was discovered when industrial emissions became tracked and quantified, such water was called acid rain.
You say your Total Solution is truly maintenance-free for 6 years or more, how can that be?
The primary challenge most water filtration systems struggle with is ensuring the media (that’s the stuff that actually catches and filters stuff out) gets “stirred” up enough during the backwash. Their best solution is frequent maintenance which is good for them but bad for you.
Our exclusive new Cyclonic CleanRinse Technology™ solves that problem by using a distributor plate which covers the entire base of the tank. When water pushes up through the plate it creates a “cyclone” type effect so powerful it actually lifts the media up 60% higher creating better channels for the water to travel through.
There’s another benefit to our solution, it uses 30% less water during the Backwash process.
Then there’s the challenge of the hard water problem. The industry has lots of solutions, unfortunately none of them are very good.
Mostly what you’ll find is the use of chemicals or salts which are often an added cost for you and always a bad move for the environment.
In order to fully appreciate why our solution is so much more advanced and better than anything else out there you have to understand what “hard” water is. Essentially, it is the mineral content of the water usually in the forms of calcium and magnesium bi-carbonates. If that sounds familiar it is probably because you have used sodium bi-carbonate which you would know by its other name, baking soda.
These minerals pose no danger to you and are actually needed for good health. However, they do pose a problem to your plumbing in the form of scale build-up in the bi-carbonate form.
